Amanda spent many years working in the service industry before pursuing a career in clinical social work. While working in this industry, the various injustices in society and stigmas relating to mental health and trauma became more prevalent. Amanda realized that she could no longer remain silent and left this industry to pursue a career that would allow her to bring awareness to mental health stigmas as well as offer supportive counseling to individuals in need.

Amanda became an LCSW supervisor because she enjoys working with individuals who are learning how to develop and apply their clinical skills with clients. She also enjoys working with clinicians who want to become more competent in working with clients who have trauma they want to process. Amanda became an EMDR CIT because she has seen the healing that clients can experience while utilizing EMDR, and she wants to help clinicians build and strengthen their EMDR skills while working to become certified.

Prior to joining Get Out Of Your Head Therapy, Amanda spent several years working with diverse populations in acute crisis at an inpatient hospital. While serving at that facility, Amanda developed an eclectic approach to therapy because she wanted to tailor therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each patient. Amanda knows the courage it takes for individuals to reach out for mental health help, and she enjoys working alongside individuals that choose to actively engage in the counseling process.

Amanda is trained to use a variety of therapy modalities including Prepare Enrich, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR. Several other theories and therapeutic approaches that Amanda often utilizes in sessions with clients are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Amanda offers weekday appointments.
